When I was eight years old, I was homeless on the streets of Monrovia, Liberia. My parents were killed during the 14-year civil war. I remember a childhood of incredible suffering and constant hunger. I slept under street market tables at night and dodging bullets by day. Those memories are not easy for me to talk about.

Because of the intervention of Orphan Relief and Rescue, I have been given a whole to start to life. Because of ORR, I received help physically, emotionally, and spiritually. Thanks to the scholarship program, I finished high school and want to go to college – ultimately to give back to my community and help my country. I am proud to have come so far because of those who have taken the time to care and to invest into my future.
